Self Acclaimed Ghanaian Prince Jailed 20 Years In USA For Fraud

Self acclaimed Prince

A guy from Ohio who claimed to be a Ghanaian prince was given a 20-year jail term for fraud.

According to a CNN article, the felon defrauded a dozen people out of hundreds of thousands of dollars by posing as a Prince of Ghana.

The court heard testimony that Daryl Robert Harrison defrauded 14 individuals out of over $800,000 by using the names Prince Daryl R. Attipoe and Prophet Daryl R. Attipoe.

Members of the Power House of Prayer Ministries, where Harrison and his stepfather served as ministers, were among many who fell for his plan.

According to reports, Harrison and his stepfather plundered other people's investments to pay for their extravagant way of living. They bought expensive cars and rented a home in Colorado.

In contrast to the 14 years that the prosecution requested, Harrison was sentenced to 20 years in prison by District Judge Michael J. Newman.

CNN says that Harrison had used encouraging letters from parishioners and family members in his request to the judge for a significantly reduced punishment. The stage IV cancer that Harrison's wife, who is caring for their six children, is fighting was also mentioned by the defence attorney for Harrison.
