Andre Ayew To Sign For Everton After Al Sadd Terminated His Contract

Everton Football Club is said to be in negotiations with former West Ham and Swansea forward Andre Ayew about a contract until the end of the season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, he is on his way to England to arrange a deal with the Toffees.

Ayew, 33, was five games away from triggering a 12-month extension with Al Sadd, but a compromise was reached to end the contract.

Everton's interest in Ayew comes after the club missed out on a number of forward alternatives, including Arnaut Danjuma, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Ismaila Sarr, Odsonne Edouard, and Jean-Philippe Mateta, as well as Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher after a £45 million bid was rejected.

The Merseyside club is said to have conducted preliminary talks with Ayew about a prospective signing in order to support their new manager, Sean Dyche.

Everton, though, is not the only British team associated with Ayew. Nottingham Forest, led by Steve Cooper, who coached Ayew at Swansea for two years, might potentially try to recruit him.

Ayew has a strong Premier League record, having scored nine goals in 55 appearances for West Ham and Swansea. He has also been a key member of Ghana's national squad, scoring 24 goals in 113 appearances.

The agreement with Everton is now thought to be 50/50 as the Toffees look to reinforce their squad ahead of a probable relegation struggle.

They are presently 19th in the league rankings, with three victories in 20 games.

On Sunday, Dyche's debut game as manager will be at home against high-flying Arsenal.
