Ghanaian midfielder Afriyie Acquah has joined Al-Ouwa Al-Jawiya in Iraq till the end of the season.

The 31-year-old has been without a club since his contract with Al-Batin FC in Saudi Arabia expired in the summer of 2022. He only appeared in eight games for the club and was not extended a contract.

Based on his success at his new club, the former Torino player will have the chance to extend his contract.

Acquah played for several Serie A clubs, including Empoli, Sampdoria, and Parma.

He had his most club appearances with Torino, where he scored six goals and assisted five more in 79 games.

His success earned him a spot with the Black Stars until he left the Italian League to play in Asia.

He has 42 caps for the senior national team and hopes to continue his career.
