Aubameyang Not Included In Chelsea's Champions League Squad

In recent months, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has faded into obscurity at Chelsea.

Chelsea's team for the Champions League knockout rounds includes new acquisitions Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Joao Felix, but not Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Gabon striker Aubameyang, 33, started all six group matches for the Blues and scored two goals.

He has now fallen out of favour, and he was last picked to Graham Potter's starting XI on November 6th.

Benoit Badiashile, a £35 million January signing from France, is also gone.

England Noni Madueke, a recent £30.7 million signing from PSV Eindhoven, and fellow newcomers Andrey Santos and David Datro Fofana were also left out.

Morocco winger Hakim Ziyech, whose intended loan transfer to Paris St-Germain fell through, retains a spot in Potter's squad, despite teams being limited to registering a maximum of three new players for the remaining matches in this season's campaign.

Chelsea paid a British record 121 million euros (£107 million) to sign Argentine World Cup champion Fernandez from Benfica.

Mudryk arrived to Stamford Bridge in a transfer valued up to £89 million from Shakhtar Donetsk, soon after the club recruited Portugal striker Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid.

On Wednesday, February 15, Chelsea will play the opening leg of their last-16 tie against German club Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool has added Cody Gakpo, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to their group, with Jurgen Klopp's side set to face Real Madrid in a rematch of last season's final, with the first of two legs taking place at Anfield on Tuesday, February 21. (20:00 GMT).

Maximo Perrone, an Argentine midfielder, has been appointed to Manchester City's squad for their matches against RB Leipzig, replacing Portugal full-back Joao Cancelo, who has joined Bayern Munich on loan.

Tottenham have included loan acquisitions Arnaut Danjuma and Pedro Porro in their squad, while AC Milan have left out Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who will meet Spurs in the last 16 on 14 February at the San Siro (20:00).

Ibrahimovic, 41, has yet to play for the Italian champions this season after undergoing knee surgery last summer after helping the club to its first Scudetto in 11 years.
