Fire Outbreak At Budumburam

Seven people who happen to be in the same family have lost their lives after a fire ravaged their house.

The unfortunate incident which happened at Big Apple, a suburb of Gomoa Buduburam in the Central Region was recorded on Saturday morning.

The seven death recorded in the incident includes Mr Robert Assan, a headteacher, his wife and his five kids.

Eyewitnesses reports reveal that the fire started in the early hours of the morning around 5:30 but couldn't tell what actually caused the fire.

Personal belongings, stationery and food items were some of the things that were destroyed in the fire.

According to an eyewitness who is a resident of Budunburam, they heard the victims screaming on top of their voices from their apartment asking for help.

They tried to rescue them by breaking into the apartment but the nature of the burning fire made their mission unsuccessful.

By the time personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) got to the scene, the fire which started from the living room before spreading to other rooms had already killed them.

The lifeless bodies of this family were found in the bedroom and bathroom.

Bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the mortuary.
