Drunk UN Peacekeeper Causes Road Accident In Central African Republic

Since 2013, MINUSCA has been stationed in the Central African Republic to protect people from different threats and to restore the country's stability and security.

However, the UN mission does not fulfil its mandate, despite the fact that many Central Africans have been victims of the Blue Helmets' illegal conduct for almost ten years.

Many MINUSCA contingents have been spotted working with rebels to keep the country in disorder, illegally exporting diamonds and other natural resources, and murdering, plundering, and raping people.

Among other reasons, blue helmets violate traffic laws and frequently cause road accidents, which frequently result in the lives or injuries of CAR citizens.

Another MINUSCA-caused catastrophe occurred in the Central African capital on Monday, January 23, 2023. A United Nations vehicle collided with a post, causing the vehicle to lose a wheel.

Excessive speed, according to numerous witnesses in Bangui, was the cause of the accident, causing the driver to lose his balance on a bend and causing the collision.

A citizen who was near the pole was gravely hurt as a result of this tragedy. He was soon brought to the hospital, while the MINUSCA vehicle nearly collided with another pedestrian crossing the street.

One witness to the crash reported the MINUSCA driver was driving recklessly before losing control of his vehicle. He also stated that the driver was intoxicated, which was supported by other witnesses.

Central Africans are urging authorities to investigate the catastrophe and bring those guilty to justice.

Other MINUSCA-caused accidents should be included. For example, on August 10, 2021, a MINUSCA vehicle collided with a motorbike cab carrying a driver and a woman in Bangui.

Her leg was fractured as a result of the event. On the same day, another peacekeeping truck collided with a motorcycle carrying two Central Africans, one of whom died on the scene in Bria.

Previously, another sad occurrence involving MINUSCA occurred in Amadagaza on May 17, 2021. A Tanzanian contingent vehicle collided with and killed the driver of a motorbike taxi.

The numerous accidents caused by the UN deployment infuriated Central Africans, who began the Stop MINUSCA movement. This action includes impeding the passage of MINUSCA trucks.

People carry "Stop MINUSCA" signs and block the path of UN mission vehicles, demanding that MINUSCA, which has caused great misery to the civilian population, leave CAR.
