A gory accident in the Northern Region near Savelugu has claimed the lives of 10 people and rendered 23 others injured.
Savelugu Police account reveals that a KIA Rhino truck that was involved in the accident had 33 passengers on board.
According to eyewitnesses, the KIA Rhino truck in an attempt to avoid running over a cyclist lost control thereby somersaulting.
The victims of the accident were returning from a funeral when the unfortunate incident happened.
Right after the accident, six of the passengers were pronounced dead.
The rest 27 who has various degrees of injuries were rushed to the Savelugu Municipal Hospital for treatment.
Four of the injured persons passed on later after being referred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for further treatment
The driver of the truck is among those who have been admitted at the Savelugu Municipal Hospital.
