Asante Kotoko Sign New Brazilian Striker Matheus De Souza

Asante Kotoko, the reigning Ghana Premier League winner, has confirmed the acquisition of Brazilian forward Matheus Medieros De Souza.

The 26-year-old left-footed player has agreed to a six-month contract extension with an option for another year. De Souza is the second player to join Asante Kotoko during the current transfer window, after Rashid Nortey.

De Souza formerly played for Paju Citizen FC in South Korea's third division, where he scored twice in 11 games.

A club statement said, "Matheus is the third Brazilian to join us after successful spells with Michael Vinicius and Fabio Gama.

"We welcome Matheus to the Porcupine family and wish him success."

Asante Kotoko, who are presently fourth in the league standings with 21 points, are hoping that De Souza can help them defend their league crown. On Sunday, the team will welcome the Kotoku Royals at the Baba Yara Stadium.
